The North Face Thermoball Booties
Buy now: Men’sBuy now: Women’s
A staff favorite these are the ultimate booties for skiers. Well-loved for their ease to slide on and off, the insulation, and the rubber traction gifting these booties will quickly put you on the nice list. Keep them in your ski bag for a delightful aprés ski treat, and don’t be surprised if everyone you know suddenly needs a slipper to “borrow”.
Helly Hansen Avanti Softshell Ski Bib Pants
Buy now ($262.50 normally $350)
I’ve been on the hunt for a reliable pair of softshell bibs for warmer ski days and the Avanti bibs are exactly what I’ve been looking for. I love that they channel the throwback vibe and the stripe is an homage to ski history. More importantly, they’re created with extra reinforcements around the hem so they’ll last for years. They also use Recco technology to provide an extra layer of safety. Now all I have to decide is what color. —Jamie Aranoff

Smith 4D MAG
Buy now (starting at $204, normally $340)
Skiers love Smith goggles for their reputation and versatility. We love the 4D Mag because the goggles is state of the art when it comes to seeing what’s around us and the periphery (which is pretty important). With Smith’s Birdseye technology skiers can have better vision and ski safer. The goggles come in over 20 lens color combinations so whatever your style may be, Smith has you covered.
Halfdays Light Cushion Ski Sock
I have poor circulation in my feet, so bad, that for years I used to stuff regular hand warmers (not even toe warmers) into my boots and the discomfort was better than losing feeling in my toes. Thankfully, I have discovered the wonders of toe warmers and heated boot liners. Even still, I need a reliable sock to get me through the day and one of my favorites is the Light Cushion Ski Sock from Halfdays. This Black Friday I’ll be stocking up on more socks and getting a few extras for gifts as well! —Jamie Aranoff
Expedition Crocodile Classic Gaiters
Buy now (every $100 spent gets you entered into a $5,000 grand prize)
This is actually something I won’t be buying this year, and for good reason. My parents have each owned a pair of Outdoor Research’s gaiters for almost three decades, and while the colors are a bit faded, and the strap a little worn down they’re as good as ever. They’ve worn the gaiters every winter through cross-country skiing, snow shoveling, and hiking. And when my parents aren’t using them, my brother and I will occasionally borrow them for our own cold-weather endeavors. If you’re looking for gear that will hold up for generations then look no further, this one is built to last. —Jamie Aranoff
Stio Hometown Down Hooded Jacket
Buy now (Men’s) Buy now (Women’s)
If you’re looking for a jacket to keep you warm for everything from town to down the slopes, this is the one for you. The high loft down traps in heat to keep you warm on the coldest days, and the jacket is remarkably lightweight for the warmth it provides. When zipped up, the hood is fitted and offers excellent coverage for your chin and ears, giving a hat and scarf a run for their money. The fit is flattering but not too tight, a very casual look that isn’t too long. The clean finish sleeve cuff with internal elastic makes it easy to slide over a glove, although no tightening closure allows air to occasionally come up the sleeve if you’re not wearing a glove or mitten. —Giorgia Menetre
Arc’teryx Proton Lightweight Hoody
Buy now (men’s) Buy now (women’s)
The Proton line from Arc’teryx is one of those pieces that’s unlike anything else in its category. The inside material is made of an almost air pocket-like material that quickly wicks away sweat while keeping you warm. This inner lining makes it the ultimate mid-layer, especially in the backcountry. With a Gore-Tex exterior shell, you’ll also get plenty of use wearing the jacket as your outermost layer (it makes a killer rain jacket too).
Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Vest
I’ve collected several Ghost Whisperer pieces over the years, but the one I never leave out of my ski bag is my Ghost Whisperer Vest. At a scant 4.6 ounces, it’s literally feather-weight, yet it’s stuffed with 800-fill RDS-certified down, so the warmth-to-weight ratio is excellent. I always put it on beneath my shell in the morning for a little extra warmth, and if I do need to lose a layer at lunchtime, the vest easily squishes into the inside pocket of my jacket. It’s so light and stuffable, it’s a given to carry it along. If there’s a knock against this vest, it’s that it’s on the pricier side for a jacket with no arms, which is why nabbing it for 50 percent off for yourself or your favorite skier during the Black Friday sale is truly a no-brainer. —Samantha Berman

Yeti 24 Hard Cooler
Perhaps the most iconic cooler in the resort parking lot comes from Yeti. The 24 is the perfect size for throwing in aprés adult beverages and some snacks or using the cooler to keep hot chocolate and other warm drinks hot all day. The cooler fits up to 33 cans or 26 pounds of ice and all ten colors are on sale. If you’re not in the market for a cooler, Yeti has a few more deals throughout the weekend.
