How To Cook A Low Country Boil?

For todays recipe for a low country boil, I’m going to assume the number of people is eight.

You will want to fill your stock pot with enough water to cover all the ingredients.

Begin with 2-3 Lemons cut in half and a bag of Zatarain’s Crab Boil

Next add your potatoes and onions to the water. Allow 2-3 small potatoes per person and approx. 3 onions quartered. Cut larger potatoes in half.

Once water is boiling, cook for 15 minutes

Finally, add the frozen shrimp and we usually allow 1/4 pound of shrimp per person.

Boil for another 3-5 minutes or until they turn pink.

We like to use easy peel frozen shrimp because they are already deveined and are easy to peel and eat.

Note: if using fresh shrimp, allow to boil approx. 1 minute and check to see if pink.
