Amy is always our waitress--she is absolutely amazing, always friendly, and makes us feel as though we are her very dear friends. She brings us our coffee first thing without us even having to ask for it. The food is great, but Amy is what makes Gainesville Diner so very special.”

“Our Server, Lindsey, was FANTASTIC. Food was also FANTASTIC! Forget going anywhere else in the Virginia Gateway area - this place is a gem! Everything is made as ordered. We started with the Nachos, then ordered the Chicken Roulade, Short Rib Stroganoff, Flamin' Steak Fajitas, and the Tomato Bisque with Grilled Cheese. My friend is allergic to tomatoes, so they brought out fresh avocado slices instead of their guac and put the pico de gallo on the side. Oh the fries were hot and delicious and the iced tea was very fresh and much enjoyed. The fajita steak was melt in your mouth and perfectly flavored. Stroganoff, just wonderful and the Chicken Roulade was, too! Only two LEETLE things I'd change is more queso on the nachos and the tomato bisque was a little TOO creamy in taste and needed a little more of the tomato umph. Other than that, the ambience was great - we had a late lunch. GO HERE. And bring a Rockwood to the Sterling, VA area, too!”

“I'm conflicted. I was a military cook and a chef for decades. So maybe it's just my preference. The staff non rush hour. Top notch so pleasant. My order was take out.The food ingredients seem to be excellent.Ruben, I don't understand the spread I didn't use it. Only half had cheese, perhaps a teaspoon of crout and no pickle offered. But excellent beef.Fish sandwich I didn't eat it was burnt. I took one bite it hurt my mouth. The fries were tasty but again kinda burnt. If I were to venture a guess? Someone needs to change that oil.I guess a minor execution tweaks if this is the standard or maybe someone was a little tired.Saying that? I would probably try again. Maybe when they are busier the standard would be higher. It happens.”

“We did carryout before so our first time dining in. Love their selections and food. There were four of us, so enjoyed a wide selection of food. Had the jalapeno poppers for the first time. I was expecting something the size of wontons. Boy was I wrong. Four large pieces presented nicely. It was great. Our friends had a number of rolls that were served in one of those large wooden boat looking things. I had what was listed on the menu as a Hawaiian poke bowl. It was a delicious salad with seared tuna and dressing that had just the right kick. Think of it as a salad, not a Hawaiian poke bowl, and you will not be disappointed. If you are not a sushi or seafood type person, there are things on the menu for you too. We recommend you check it out.”

“My wife wanted to try a new restaurant for her birthday and came across this restaurant. I was able to easily book a reservation for 7 people on their website. Received a reminder text the day before my reservation to final confirm my reservation. There weren't many people in the restaurant for our 5 PM reservation but the scenery (trees, golf course, lake Manassas) were awesome to look at. We felt welcomed as new guests to this restaurant. Throughout our time there, there were numerous high school prom couples that came into dine which was cool. The customer service experience was awesome as we were seated right away when we arrived. We were treated as valued patrons throughout our experience. The host was nice as we were seated. Other staff were nice throughout our time there. Our server Jacob was the ultimate professional as he took care of our table quite nicely inserting his personable (humor, getting our orders right and ensuring we were okay throughout) touch. He was assertive and accommodating to our table making my wife's birthday dinner memorable for all. One person in our party wasn't too happy with their meal (the pork chop was very dry and not tasty) and Jacob took care of it with no hesitation by allowing the option for a different meal to be made. Our meals and desserts were delicious. The only problem I had with the desserts was the portions were small for the $7 price. Our server Jacob was nice enough to even take a picture outside of our group. Very happy we found this restaurant and have another restaurant added to our list to eat at again in the future.”

“Did NOT disappoint! Enjoyed a tasty meal at La Finca this weekend. Staff was friendly and attentive. Most important, the food was delish. Salsa was smooth--just a hint of heat and not too much cilantro. Beef and chicken flautas offered a great crunch and tender meat filling. Chile relleno, filled with melty cheesy goodness, was a hit! The skinny margarita was as you'd expect--good, but not quite the punch of a regular margarita. The mango-habanero shrimp was a beautiful presentation and the sauce packed a great, sweet kick--minus a star for shrimp being really over cooked (easy fix for the kitchen, though).Sounds like the new management team is off to a promising start and we can't wait to visit again!”

“Easily the best place to be in Gainesville for all the craft beer drinkers, music lovers and BBQ eaters!!! I frequent this place on a weekly basis, not just because it's close to the house, but because it's a FUN atmosphere. There are dart boards, arcade games, board games, live music, comedy shows and good food. You can host private parties here too!!! CHECK IT OUT!!!! 60+ taps of beer and TOP SHELF bourbon/whiskey!”

“I knew at 9:10 pm that they closed at 10pm, I was only going to be in Walgreens a minute. Yeah right. I ran to my car after rushing the poor young man at the Walgreens checkout ( he was rooting for me to make it too). Thanking my lucky stars the two businesses are located in the same parking lot, nonetheless, I was so upset with myself because I was starving and I just knew they were going to be closed. I pulled up to the speaker at 9:59 + however many seconds PM. To my surprise not only were they still open and letting me order, the young lady on the other side of the speaker was just as nice and cheerful as she probably was at the beginning of her shift. I told her how sorry I was and she assured me all was good. I got my food, it was awesome. It wasn't old, I didn't feel like I was getting a consolation prize for coming in so late, it was nice and fresh. My milkshake is awesome !! They did a great job, without even trying they genuinely made me feel like I was the first customer of the day and not holding them up by coming in so late at the end of the day. Great job !! When they say it's a pleasure, they mean it. Thank you, it made my night.”

“We started out with AYCE crabs…but those were pitiful. You pulled all the meat out of them pulling the claws off! We told our waitress we wanted a dozen of the large and we got the last ones they had (at 5 pm). Those were 100% better! This place is good but they’re really ripping people off with those small AYCE crabs!”
